"The Heart," a small organ but with tremendous power. I remember watching a movie, "The Originals." Two of the Lead characters, Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson were being "Badoos" in Nigerian slang. This movie is a supernatural movie about their entire family, their past and the challenges they had to overcome. Now I remember a scene where they both team up to protect Hayley, Klaus's baby mama and they were just ripping out hearts with such agility that they were done in a matter of minutes. Of course Elijah didn't fail to clean his hands on his kerchief; as usual he's always the gentleman. Klaus was sure to reward us too with his signature diabolical smile. Quite the Duo I must say.
If you have watched this movie, you'll remember how quickly life was snuffed out once the heart was missing. In one heartbeat, it was all over. It reminds me of some people I come across sometimes. They live life like their heart is just gone, like what you would call, "The walking dead," alive but not really living. It made me realize that as powerful as the heart is, it's also very fragile, it's no wonder it's hidden inside, encased, where it can be protected. So today someone told me, "Guard your heart Sylvia, for out of it flow the issues of life". This is me telling you the exact same thing. Guard your heart. Life is full of heartaches and challenges that will try to weigh you down but if you can protect that part of you that carries your life force and sustains you, you can find the will to rise above anything and everything. Your heart is too fragile to be left to the whims of others, the world and even yourself. When you do this, then you will surely find the courage to not just be alive but to actually live!
