Little Prayers Work Too!

Whenever we get home for holidays after the semester or session, our tradition is usually to catch each other up on various activities that happened while away from each other and on this particular occasion I was telling my mum about an experience that left me humbled and in awe. Are you holding that popcorn? If yes! Then kick back and enjoy the story.
So sometime last year after my 200 level first semester exams, I went to Benin to visit with my twin at her house in Ekosodin in Edo State, Benin. The plan was to stay for almost two weeks and go back to school a day before my final paper. Said Paper was a borrowed 100level course compulsory for us all. Now while there, Monday night of the week I was to leave, I got a call telling me that the exams initially scheduled for Thursday by 3pm had been shifted, to be written on Tuesday by 3pm. Guess who was in shock? Immediately I started preparing to travel first thing the next day. That night I made a short prayer that the exam had to be cancelled. I wasn't mentally ready to part with my twin nor even write an exam. Tuesday morning before 8am I was already out of the house and at the Transport Depot station. After I'd bought my ticket and was waiting for other passengers, I get a call saying the exam had been moved to it's original date, which was Thursday. My sister convinced me to come back to her house and go back the next day. So I spoke with the staff and I was told I could defer my ticket to a later date which I did.

Wednesday came and I didn't travel back, not surprising as we usually find it difficult to part once united. My twin finally convinced me to go back Thursday morning, it was agreed that if I left early enough I would make it to write the exam by 3pm. Of course I stayed, lol.
Thursday morning I was out of the house as early as possible only to get there and discover that the bus was already filled up.  Infact I was to be the first passenger on the next bus and I just knew that if that became the case, I would never make it in time to write the exam. I didn't know whether to laugh or panic. I just stood there and muttered a prayer in my heart, "Lord I can't miss my exam, something has to give way." I stood for some minutes, I even considered begging someone to switch places with me. I couldn't change stations cause I had already bought the ticket and I didn't have that much money on me.
There I was pondering different outcomes, only to hear a commotion inside the bus and one of the passengers, a tall dark man was shouting, "I can't stay in this bus, I can't stay in this bus." People rushed to placate him but he kept reiterating the same thing. His reason was that the bus was waybilling two containers of live fish and he said if the bus got jostled, the water would splash on him and that he could not condone such. Of course I felt bad for him but when the officials asked if I could take his place as the bus was already set to leave, guess who snatched up the ticket like a deer after outrunning a hungry lion. Oh yes! Me, lol. I got into the bus and zoom we were on our way.
You may think those little Prayers don't work, but I tell you someone who enjoys hearing your prayers and answering them definitely picks up when you call. I realized God is really interested in both the seemingly significant and insignificant aspects of my life because I must say I really didn't think the solution would happen in the way it did. Learn to say a little prayer when faced with those seemingly significant and insignificant challenges, God definitely hears them and answers! Your little Prayers are just as important as your big ones, I hope you say something to God today. He is waiting to answer you!

PS: I did make it in time and also wrote the exam easily. When the results were out I got a B.
